I don't agree, completely. I was considered for CO and I wasn't an ass kisser. I genuinely cared for the congregation and knew my WT/Bible well. I made sacrifices and pioneered for 9 years. I was one who really put thought into talks, using illustrations I found that I hadn't heard 1,000 times before and always showed empathy. THAT is why I ended up leaving. I met so many of those 1 month wonders who were appointed and didn't give a flying fig for anyone that it sickened me. It became clear that the whole thing was a pyramid scheme for egotists. So even in the 90's there was a majority of ass kissers. Smart guys with a conscience get out.

i'm sure that most of us heard that line when we were young.

i never could convince myself of that, other than that it hung a blade over my head that would then be on the chopping block should i err in some way and thus they would be protected from me, but i also knew that i needed to do so anyway.

otherwise i'd be a pariah if i got older and didn't take the step, and i wanted to be good in their eyes.

Yeah, I've heard other elders say that to kids, I cringed. I was an elder too but knew the majority of these kids would be ass out in no time once their libido's kicked in. Protection? Nope.

1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.

2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.

yesterday a witness friend asks why i don't attend the k.h anymore.. me:- " i don't say this often but your j.ws opinion is wrong" .

the end.. my reasons for this simple reply were:-.

a) i have grown tied of reading j.w crap.

i remember seeing the ex-jws parading around outside the assembly like lepers holding placards of hate.

we were the righteous and enlightened ones... and they were lost in outer darkness.

just dont look at them was the standard response to their unwelcome presence..

I did a lot of good as one of JW's. I was popular because I wasn't a company man. In the end it contributed to my exit, couldn't tolerate the BS anymore. Started living for me at last. Feels pretty good.

I think she is a different person since accepting Jesus. She has become a self righteous hater of anyone who doesn't dress like her sharecropper husband. Did you get a load of that guy on CNN? Now here are three people that Jesus must be very proud of.

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do

witnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.

everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

They cannot truly be without guilt as all the sanctions lead to constant failure. No one can meet the rules completely and their version of forgiveness doesn't cover the littlest transgression without institutional intervention, ie: Da Eldahs. So glad to be free of the mooks.
